There is Gold Within You

On remembering who you were before survival taught you hide.
Healing is not becoming someone else.
It is remembering who you were before fear taught you to disappear.
Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to perform in order to be accepted.
To become quieter.
Smaller.
Easier to understand.
Less emotional.
Less visible.
We build identities around survival, then spend years believing they are who we truly are.
But the self does not vanish.
It waits beneath the roles we learned to play.
Beneath the silence.
Beneath the need to be approved.
Beneath the fear of being too much.
This is where the work begins.
Not in becoming more perfect, more spiritual, or more acceptable.
But in noticing what we abandoned in order to belong.
Alchemy, to me, is not a fantasy of turning nothing into gold.
It is the process of recognizing what was buried and learning how to bring it back into light.
There is gold within you.
Not because you have become flawless.
But because even the parts you tried to hide still carry meaning.
The pain.
The sensitivity.
The intensity.
The longing.
The voice you softened.
The truth you learned to edit.
None of it was wasted.
It became material.
And maybe that is where transformation begins:
when we stop searching outside of ourselves for proof of worthand begin listening to what has been waiting within us all along.
